If I understand you correctly, you are coding the UsrOpn at the beginning of each procedure or module in the service program. So, if a procedure is called for the first time it will open only the files that it is coded for. Do you use %open to check this? If so, what is the cost of %open? And so that all the files used in a service program aren't opened at activation time which can be noticable if a service program uses a lot of files. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
