Well, it's enough for describing the problem! :-) CAnn reads nothing at all and when you write the display file's record again, you'll loose the user's input. I just don't read the subfile when i do not want to process the entries. I have F17 and F18 in most of my SFL programs and do not read the SFL when i press one of these. But they are CFnn-keys. When the user presses enter, i READC the SFL-records. Or, if you prefer, you can imagine "Enter" as CF00.
