You could be right. We only have a handful of join logicals, of which I think I have created zero. And we don't have many join OPNQRYFs, of which I have probably created zero also. (Nor do I use embedded SQL <gag>, I roll my own join logic in the program.) So I've never had occasion to actually see if that would work or not. And since it's something I don't really care about, I'm not going to bother and see if I can persuade the query engine.
