Bruce, There is an MI function GENUUID() that can be called from RPG. Carsten Flensburg posted an RPG IV template, which is all that you need to get going. Search the archives for the complete discussion: http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l/index.htm Just as a side note, I abandoned my plan to use UUID's because they proved to be too cumbersome to use. I don't believe that they'll be truly useful on the 400 unless we get a new UUID data type.
