I would hesitate recommending a do it yourself tool unless you are very comfortable with the environment, i.e.: Same file in multiple libraries Join logicals not following the typical naming scheme OPNQRYF FMTDTA OVRDBF using variable names CPYF / CRTDUPOBJ Cross-system dependencies like the file being a DDM target File transfer from/to other systems including PCs Queries including user created queries and QMQRY DFU programs ReXX programs Cobol programs Embedded SQL, especially dynamically prepared statements PC applications like Client/Server or ODBC Embedded CL commands in RPG programs I'm sure I missed some, but a busy organisation may have all of these places to look, not just RPG, CL and DDS source...
