John,

I'm the one that sent that message (over 24 hours ago and it just now showed
up on the list...geez) (for the record, this message is being sent at
9:05am EST on 11/3/2000, in case no one gets it until next week)

Anyway, I wasn't trying to slam you or to even suggest that you
intentionally misquoted George. I simply used the presumably accidental
misquote to make the point that the difference between

For i = 0
    to num;

...and...

For i = 0 to num;

is non-trivial, and, imho, indicative of the difference between true free
format code (ala C, Pascal, Java, ...) and code that presumes that one line
equals one statement.

The problem is, your original statement "God I hate this list server" was
exactly what I was thinking when my message finally showed up on the list a
day after I sent it and AFTER so many other similar remarks that it makes me
look like a complete dunce. Oh well, won't be the first time.

But, just to be clear on where I stand on this, I personally would like to
see:

; exist
GOTO not exist

Regards,

Steve Brazzell
