The posters in favour of eliminating GOTO all use an alternate spelling, typically "LEAVE" So, they aren't objecting to multiple exit points, they just want the spelling modernised! I favour keeping GOTO (encourage as much migration as possible!) and eliminating the semicolon (how does the compiler find the next line after a missing semicolon? They must already have some alternate means for finding the next statement.) If I had $100.00 to spend, my choices would be: Keep free form "goto" $90 Eliminate semicolon $10 Ability to participate in the compiler design discussion: $Priceless!
