>> but not with this >> c Eval PathName = '/QDLS/SAGAN/' >> c Eval dh = OpenDir( PathName ) >> Shouldn't option *String put *Null after PathName? Why this allow to do it with PN? I suspect that the *String option is doing exactly what you ask but the null will be in byte 51 and it may be that opendir doesn't like trailing blanks - or it does but can't find a directory with spaces in the name. Your code should %TrimR the Pathname when using it as a parm. In all of your other examples (apart from what I assume is an erroneous repeat of the OpenDir( PathName ) which didn't work, the compiler will have null terminated the string following the last significant character. In the case where you added a null "by hand" you would have had two of them. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
