Pass parms as structures. Do not build apps based on whether you can call them easily from the command line. Go ahead, make your RPG program accept 5/2, then try to call that sucker from some new GUI application, or make the call to the program from some other place, or need to adopt authority, or... It really is a nuisance and I can admire any shop that says "No numeric parms".
