Eric,

My purpose was to offer an SQL based Query tool that would complement SQL
based STRSQL which is definitely not an end-user tool.

I can't stand here and defend QM as the ultimate tool (it is included with
the SQL Development kit so no additional cost for what you get) as I must
confess to using Operations Navigator, "Run SQL Scripts" more and more. The
data is presented in a tabular format and, as you probably know, you can
use SQL to change the column headings and to pretty up the individual
column values.

Going further, I have found using embedded SQL in RPG programs to be an
even better way to manage queries.

When I do use QM in my job (not often), I always use the SQL query creation
mode versus prompting. I find that the prompting mode is not as easy to use
once you are comfortable with SQL. If this is what you mean when you say
that the documentation is "cryptic", you may be right based on what you
need to do.

If you care to give me a query that you'd like to spruce up, I'd be glad to
give it my best shot to see whether I could come up with something
acceptable to you using both QM and Ops. Nav.

Bob
