Jose,

Yes, it is possible. Do the following :

1) Run the STRSQL command as usual
2) Press the F13 command key (Services)
3) Select the option to change the session attributes
4) On the screen displayed, the second parameter is the type of output (1=Screen, 2=Spool, 3=Database File). Select "2".
5) Press Enter twice
6) You can now type and run your SQL statement and the result will be directed to a spool file

In order to change the session attributes again and come back to normal, repeat these first steps and set the output type as 1 (Screen).

If needed, you could also issue an OVRPRTF in order for the printed record to fit the width of your page. To do that, just issue the OVRPRTF command before running your STRSQL command. This will look like this : OVRPRTF FILE(QPQUPRFIL) WIDTH(xxx) CPI(xxx)

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Fabrice

SQL spool file

Is it possible to put the result of an SQL statement used in STRSQL into a spool file in  AS/400?
