James, I don't think your /COPY method isolates the code any better
than having your users code this:
   C            callp     wait (30)
with your "wait" subprocedure or program using the method du jour?

Besides the fact that using a subprocedure in a service program, or using
another program allows you to modify your code and have all the users
immediately pick up the change, using your /COPY method requires the users
to remember more (the /copy file name, the subroutine name, AND the name of
the variable with the number of seconds).
