Java the language, was created due to some limitations of C++, ?which was the language originally used for the project. >Regards, > >John Taylor >Canada John Ah ya. Whatever. So it was designed for consumer electronics. Ya and RPG was "Designed" for reports. I believe they have made a couple of revisions to the language since then right? My point was a joke. Designing a class (BigDecimal in the Java.math package) to handle decimal results(and rounding functions) instead of just adding a "Decimal" data type to the language definition is the long way around I thought. Since Java was first designed(for imbedded systems) it has been enhanced and extended many times. It has been recently touted as a business language. I just thought they would have enhanced it to handle "Business" needs a little better. That's it. It wasn't important anyway, No follow-ups, Good night irene John +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
