RE: ODBC Question

ODBC is a way to access SQL databases.  SQL databases don't have multiple
formats in a single table, that is one of the rules.  Please recall the
normalization levels:

First normal form - one format per file
Second normal form - eliminate arrays stored in records
Third normal form - eliminate transitive dependencies

If the file has more than one format, by definition it is not a relational
database table.  If you can find a way to support multiple formats in a
single table using ODBC, I wouldn't trust it.

I am trying to use ODBC with MS Access by attaching to files on the AS/400.
However, the files have multiple formats in each file (YUK!).  It seems as
thought the ODBC Driver only sees the first format.  Has anyone on this list
ever read addtional formats  via ODBC?
