Ted, Big speculation here, but I think they might be referring to potential problems with object allocation. As you may already know, it is pretty common for day-end type routines to do an ENDSBS QINTER before performing backups or other operations. If the GUI version uses ODBC, OLEDB, JDBC etc., then ending QINTER will not release the object allocations held by the GUI applications. These allocations are actually held by the host server jobs running under QSERVER. If you can tell us a bit more about the technology used within the GUI version, then someone might be able to provide a more concrete answer.
