I would add that > those that don't > _LIKE_ to use a CMS have either A) used one that was not > properly installed > or B) are _ARROGANT_ SOB's that don't think they could ever > make a mistake > and want QGOD authority for whatever they do or C) have > absolutely no > concept of how AS/400 security does and should work. Well, if that's how it goes, then people who thing a CMS is required are: A) Scared that they can't communicate with others well B) Worried about their abilities and need some half-baked package to catch their mistakes because they don't do backups c) Never tried to implement true ILE integrity with a CMS after it's been implemented (and being promised it works only to be told to call tech support where they think ILE is RPGIV) D) Like to lose control of their environment because if you have to for any reason go outside of the CMS you're screwed. Trust me, I'm none of the above in your statement (except mayby the QGOD one.. someone has to take control), but I'm very unhappy with our CMS. We've used 2, Turnover was not one of them, maybe it's different. Our CMS was installed by the company themselves. Distribution was the biggest selling point. Know what? We've had more problems now than doing it by hand. Thank God RSF is still a good product. If you want it done right, do it yourself.
