Karen Herbelin - Readers Digest 3/2000 -----Original Message----- From: Joe Teff [mailto:JoeTeff@earthlink.net] Sent: Tuesday, June 13, 2000 11:29 AM To: 'RPG400-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: QAQQINI I'm the middle man, so hopefully I don't misrepresent anything. The problem is why the RPG compile is failing when it uses basic AS/400 files - no SQL, OPNQRYF, whatever. The developer did assure me that the program is not using anything that in anyway should require any optimizer interface. I have requested further information from the developer and will forward it on when I receive it. ---------- From: Reger, Bill[SMTP:breger@levitz.com] Reply To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Sent: Tuesday, June 13, 2000 12:09 PM To: 'RPG400-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: QAQQINI QAQQINI is new with V4R4. That is why your compile fails at TGTRLS(*PRV). The following is taken directly from the "V4R4 Memo to Users": ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- 3.1.8 DATA AREA QQQOPTIONS NO LONGER SUPPORTED For V4R4, a new Query Options file, QAQQINI, is provided that allows you to modify how queries are optimized by overriding the default query options on the system. The option OPTIMIZE_STATISTIC_LIMITATION allows you to limit the amount of time that the optimizer spends when estimating the number of keys that matched a particular query. If you have used the QQQOPTIONS data area on previous releases, you now need to use the OPTIMIZE_STATISTIC_LIMITATION option in the QAQQINI file. The QQQOPTIONS data area is no longer supported and is ignored after V4R4 is installed. For more information on the Query Options File, see the DB2 for AS/400 SQL Programming, SC41-5611. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
