Hans,

If your applications are written with the assumption that files will be shared, 
I 
think it would be advantageous to leave the files open.  Unless by finished you 
mean finished as in I won't be using this file again before this job ends or 
a RCLACTGRP is run.

opened automatically in NOMAIN modules, since other
cycle logic is not included, there's no automatic
closing of the files.  RCLACTGRP could also be used
to clean up the files.
