Why would you EVER want to skip a duplicate record message. The physical
file, or a logical over it, has been defined as unique for a reason( one
would hope <g>). By allowing a duplicate record you will get unpredictable
results in the application/program that needs that unique key.

The best thing you can do is determine why a duplicate record is being
created and fix the problem. Check the physical files and logical files for
the key work UNIQUE to determine the unique key structure.

Doug

I have a program that is doing updates to dozens of files and somewhere
it's
giving me
an error saying that the PGM cant do an update in a duplicate record, and
aborts
the PGM.
I want to ignore that (duplicate record) message and continue in the next
record.
How can I do that ?
I need to solve that urgently..

TIA,
Silvio.
