Rob,

Just as a trivia point, it's only the S/34 and S/36 versions of MAPICS which use
the LDA. The S/38 and AS/400 versions all use a combination of a passed
parameter, a MAPICS-created data area in QTEMP called ZZLDA, and several fields
in the MAPICS "jobs active" file to pass the "program communications area"
around among the programs. Of course, the variable name used in all the
programs is, most confusingly, LDA. You would be surprised at the number of
MAPICS programmers who don't realize that the MAPICS "LDA" and the *LDA data
area are not connected in any way. And then there's all the people who have
only worked with MAPICS on the /34 or /36 who hear "LDA" and naturally think
that "There can be only one!" (LDA, that is. ;)
