Mike,

That sounds like a codepage problem. The best I have come up with is to create
the output file with the
proper output code page using the cpy or mov commands. I while back I created
a file with a code page
of 367 using cpy specifying the from and to codepage. Now create the target
file using cpy and then do
my cpytoimpf. There is also an API that will change a code page. I believe that
it is only available on V4R4.

I'm trying to use the cpytoimpf command to copy an externally described file
to a csv file, but for some reason, it leaves the data in the csv file as
binary(I think) - it's unreadable. Running on V4R4. The input file contains
3 fields, and all are alpha.
Here's a copy of the command I entered:
 CPYTOIMPF FROMFILE(TEST/GLPG001) TOSTMF('glpg001.csv') MBROPT(*REPLACE)
 RCDDLM(*CRLF) DTAFMT(*DLM) STRDLM(' " ') FLDDLM(' , ')

After running the command, I get a completion message saying "All records
were copied...."

When I try to view the file thru notepad and another text editor, I see
this:
 ãÅâã@@@ k ãÅâã@@@ k ãÅâã@@@@@@@@@@@ k ãÅâ %

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Mike Perez
