Question: Token-Ring Port owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 2000-03-16 00:04 Please respond to RPG400-L >Didn't have much luck with this at the 400 (comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc) NG. >Thought I'd give this a whirl........... >We've recently installed a 2619 Token-Ring Port (card) and have >switched it with our old 2626 Token-Ring Port (card). We're using Netsoft >as our emulation package and all new devices attach to the new card. >Does anyone know how it would be possible to off-load some of our >devices to the old card? Is there a simple way to do this automatically? You can use a cl program on the AS/400 to do rtvcfgsrc and get current appc-controller values (and save them just in case...) and then change the mac-address from the one's that you choose. (chgctlappc cmd, ADPTADR parameter) How to change the config at the pc's is probably more magic than auto, but maybe you can write a script/program that can update the configuration. Another way would be to do a export of the configuration from a manually configured pc and mail it and import to the other the pc's.
