Thanks for the sugestions.
I forgot to code the invite keyword in the display file.
It's always something simple.

Chris, I am not sure I follow the flow here, but I wondered if you might
try making two identical formats excepting for the wait record, and
hardwire a 30 second wait and then call that format in the program, just
to see what happens. Another thought I had was to have all of the various
DDS formats for the combined application in one DDS member, like we used
to have to do on the Sys/36.
This may not be relevant to your case, but the other day Simon showed me
this code in CL to process a one-second wait:
AGAIN: /* Get the current time */
....
/* Display the clock face */
SNDRCVF RCDFMT(RFIGLET) WAIT(*NO)
MONMSG MSGID(CPF0887) EXEC(DO)
RCVMSG MSGTYPE(*EXCP)
RCVF
IF COND(&PB2 *EQ 01) THEN(WRKMSG MSGQ(*SYSOPR))
IF COND(&PB2 *EQ 02) THEN(GOTO CMDLBL(AGAIN))
IF COND(&PB2 *EQ 03) THEN(GOTO CMDLBL(ENDJOB))
IF COND(&IN03 *EQ '1') THEN(GOTO CMDLBL(ENDJOB))
IF COND(&IN06 *EQ '1') THEN(WRKMSG MSGQ(*SYSOPR))
ENDDO
DLYJOB DLY(1)
GOTO CMDLBL(AGAIN)

Subject: Display timeout - please help
Hello I am trying to timeout a screen after thirty seconds. I have done
it in one program just fine, and now this program calls another prog that
i need to timeout all the screens for.
it calls a cl that overides the display files wait record timer to 30
seconds. Then this cl calls the rpg that has the display files in it, and
it wont work like it did in the first program.
This is my timeout section of code:
WRITESFLCTL
READ CLK907MM 7172
*IN71 IFEQ *ON
STATUS IFEQ 1331
GOTO END
ENDIF
ENDIF
Any suggestions?
I am geting to the point of severe frustration.
Thanks chris
