Hi Rajeev,

I think you are confusing the definition of a pointer with the use of a pointer.

A pointer is defined with a data type of '*'.

A field (array, data structure or whatever) can then be defined. specifying that
the memory location is BASED on the pointer.

D MyPointer                         S                              *
D MyField                            S                        50
Based(MyPointer)

The program has to place a valid memory address in the pointer field

C                                              Eval     MyPointer =
%Addr(OtherField)
