 While it may be easy to locate the source (unless you're using the same indicator in multiple places), one major problem is that the program doesn't halt immediately.  It waits until the end of a cycle.  So if you are in a loop and it gets set on, much processing can be done before the error flag will be raised.

 Also, unless this has changed, there is supposed to be some additional performance overhead.

 It's OK for a down and dirty program, but I don't recommend it for production.
