I am well aware that the rpg cycle functions for every single rpg program
that is created.  When i say 'steer clear' i should qualify that i mean i
do not use files as primary, rather as full procedural.  I just thought it
would go without saying, thats all.

umm... false impression there... there is no way you 'steer clear' of the
RPG cycle .. it is there... you do use a lot of inline coding techniques to
improve the processing cycle and provide more visible control of your
program cycles .. but there is no way .. that you avoid it .. it is what
makes RPG work ..! .. Show me the command the turns off the RPG cycle .!??
