Hans I am not suggesting that proper source and object controls be put into place. I am a strong advocate of that! Change control is essential and I would shudder to think that shops do not have some form of it or another. In addition in couple of shops that I worked at we had Mimix running with 2 AS/400s so that we could do a savlib *nonsys every single night without affecting the users too much. Just by switching the users from one machine to the other. Very nice! And now with the new tape drives, Grandfather those tapes for 10 or 20 generations and keep weekly/monthy/yearly saves in perpituity... > I think that's a dangerous recommendation that may lead to > complacency. Well I am sorry to disagree with you but I certainly do! It is a requirement that all of our objects have the source in them... (Our change management tool takes care of making sure that is accomplished.) I love redundancy LOVE IT LOVE IT! :-) I will stop beating this dead horse now. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
