Sorry Jim, I have to disagree with your conclusion. The scenario you describe is one that is all too common (unfortunately) - but it is a badly implemented half use of a field reference file. If things work better witout a FRF, what happens when you implement a field change to a field that is defined in multiple files? Surely it is easier to change the definition in a FRF and re-create all dependent files, then it is to go and make the change on all files?
