Remember that user spaces can be created in either the user domain or system domain. In the case of a high-security environment, system value QALWUSRDMN (Allow User Domain Objects) could very well contain only library QTEMP. This is so that user domain objects can only reside in library QTEMP. If QALWUSRDMN contains only QTEMP, you can't use the QUSPTRUS (Retrieve Pointer to User Space) API.
