Check for jobs QZHQSRVD and QZHQSSRV running in QSYSWRK or job logs for
them. The job logs should tell you why they do not start. The jobd is
QZBSJOBD. Let us know what you find.

Subject: dtaq host server not starting?

Sorry to be a bit off-topic here...

I had a VB program that used Client Access API's to communicate with the
AS/400 using data queues. It worked for a long time, and then I didn't
use it for a while. Now that I am working with it again, I can't
establish a connection with the data queues. After much searching, I
have noticed that the host server as-dtaq is not running on the AS/400,
and I can't seem to get it started with STRHOSTSVR *DTAQ. Anybody else
ever run into this? I am running OS400 V4R3. I tried running the Verify
Connection function built into Client Access, and that is where I
discovered that CA can't find the as-dtaq host server. I then ran
NETSTAT, and that is how I discovered the as-dtaq host server (on port
8472) isn't even running.

Dave

P.S.: I am cross-posting this to MIDRANGE-L.
