Okay. Here goes....

GO BACKUP.

Option 10 allows you to set up the backups. Set tape volume names to be
rotated and set up daily, weekly and monthly backup options. You can change
the schedule from here also.

CALL PGM(QEZBKMSG) parm(1)

This call sends a message to the system operator to mount the appropriate
tape. Parm controls type. 1 is daily, 2 is weekly and 3 is monthly. This
program can be called repeatedly. When the backup executes, then the value
for the tape volume name changes.

The lists of libraries and folders to be backed up are contained in QUSRSYS
in user indexes, QEZBACKUPF and QEZBACKUPL.

Offhand, I can't remember where the other information is stored.

Another concern that I would have is the completeness of the backup as
implemented by these procedures. This is the old OA backup and may or may
not backup the directories. If you are on CISC and at Version 2, then you
have no fear for the backup, but you have bigger problems with the Y2K
issues.

I only had one customer that ever used this function and ALL of my other
customers use a custom, but simple set of CL programs to manage their
backups, even fully automated and using Media Libraries, so my experience is
sketchy.

My experience indicates that very few people even know about these programs,
let alone know where the documentation is.

Good luck.
