A trigger may not be the best solution for what you want to achieve. You might be better off flagging the file as a new record, and reporting off of that flag as you update it, or use a date when added. Another solution if you understand how-to; and I won't go into that here is to use journaling. You could also use the trigger to "create" a copy of the records in a file that you report off of, then clrpfm when the report is done. I am sure there are many other better solutions with the minds here too, but this should give you something to consider. -----Original Message----- From: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Gade_R_Reddy@consecofinance.com Sent: Monday, December 27, 1999 4:18 PM To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: RE: Trigger Program Hey Guys, another question about trigger program. The trigger program is executed everytime for every single record ( if i had a trigger on Insert for instance ). Is there any way i can just run the program once after all the inserts are done to the file???. In my case, i dumping the data from the Web to AS400 file. I want a report that can produce all the new records added to the AS400 File at the end of the day automatically. Hope i did't confuse much. Thanks. Gade. Granted, this worked really slick for me on an ILE trigger program, I have not tried this method using older coding techniques. Don't forget to remove the trigger from your test file (rmvpftrg). Hope this helps -----Original Message----- From: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com [mailto:owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Gade_R_Reddy@consecofinance.com Sent: Monday, December 27, 1999 2:00 PM To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: Trigger Program Please let me know how do we debug a Trigger program??.
