I have similar effects with it. I prefer to download the pdf-file to my hard disk and read it then. Right click on "view online" and then "save target as" (hope i translated my german texts properly :-) There seems to be a (little?) bug in the IE and/or the plugin. When the download time exceeds a minute or so, i also see a blank page. Then i have to click refresh when i'm sure the download is ready, then i can see the pdf in most of the cases. However, in some cases the pdf is loaded again... Due to all this, the offline method suits me best; especially when i want to continue reading the next day...
