OS/400 contains several translation tables.  EBCDIC to ASCII is just one of 
them.

Now how you use the tables is dependent upon how you want to use them.  In an
OPNQRYF, RPG program SQL or what?

If you will check library QSYS, you may find object type *TBL QASCII which
translates from ASCII to EBCDIC and *TABL QEBCDIC which translates from EBCDIC 
to
ASCII.
