Hi Bruce - >No reason? Not if you are guaranteed to not ever, in your entire >lifetime, change jobs, change platforms, change operating systems, >change languages, change... > >Oh hell, if YOU are NEVER going to CHANGE in ANY way, shap or form, then >yes, there is no reason. What does changing jobs have to do with the use of null indicators??? If one does change languages, then so much is going to have to be changed that the use or lack thereof of null indicators is going to be minor. If one changes platforms or operating systems, but keeps the same language, so what? The non-use of null indicators is more likely to be compatible across the change than their use. >Date data types were introduced in Version 2 (or was it V1R3?) so they >have been around much longer than V4R2. > >Gwecnal@aol.com wrote: >> >> In a message dated 99-10-12 17:06:10 EDT, you write: >> >> > null capable date fields ??? >> > Did I miss something ?? >> > NEED NEED NEED >> >> They have been around since v4r2, I think. v4r3 anyway. The question was in reference to NULL CAPABLE date fields.
