  • Subject: Re: Whats the best way to run a CL every 30 min

Here's what I've found to be the easiest way to accomplish this type of
thing:

1. Add a loop in the CL to DLYJOB(1800) then either GOTO CMDLBL... to
loop back to the beginning, or do the DLYJOB followed by a SBMJOB CMD(xxx)
jobq(qinter) runpty(60)...see below re priorities and qinter...

2. Submit the job to job queue QINTER (yes... qINTER) on hold. Go to the
QINTER job queue and change the job so that the run priority is correct for
a batch job. Regular interactive jobs are priority 20, regular batch jobs
are 50. Depending it's needed priority relative to regular batch and
regular interactive, change it's priority to 30, or 40, or 50, or 60...
whatever. Release the job.

Your job will now either run, hold, loop indefinitely, or re-submit itself,
depending on the option you chose.

Good luck.
