I guess what I would like is better documentation, with source code in the documentation, because I'm still gun shy about trying new API's on our system. We develop on a production machine. And I'm afraid to try new API's just in case I might crash our machine. I have heard that it's not possible, but for some reason, if there's a way to crash the 400 I seem to be able to find it. ( I even managed to do it hitting F10 in the debugger, **Some one missed a PTF** ) I guess what I'm really asking for is the correct RPG code to call each API. What does the API expect, and what should I expect back from the API. For some reason I'm just not capable of fully utilizing the API manuals... Any how, I hope everyone has a great day, and remember, 01/01/00 is almost here... Any one willing to make any bets on what's going to happen? Small hiccup or world failure, I say Big Hiccup... tim -----Original Message----- From: Kahn, David [JNJFR] [SMTP:DKahn1@JNJFR.JNJ.com] Sent: Monday, September 20, 1999 4:33 AM To: 'RPG400-L@midrange.com' Subject: RE: RPG 400 code on the NET Chris, Tim Hatzenbeler said he'd like to see example code from IBM. I assume he meant written by them. Personally I don't think they're necessarily the best people to produce example application code - it's not what they do day in day out, and it's not what they excel at. I'm not in any way denigrating them - they're just not application programmers - they write operating systems. The best application code comes from the best application programmers.
