I dont seem to have that command. (We are only on V3R7) but to answer your question DNS resolution is handled by the 400's host table. (*local) A ping from a PC does not have the same problem.

Does a ping from another host (PC) on your same subnet act the same?

Are these EDI remote hosts in your AS/400 host table - or - must they be dynamically resolved?
