Bob:  I think you're thinking too much like a C programmer
and not enough like an RPG programmer.  Why use "sprintf"
when RPG has such good string catenation already?  Using
the + operator and BIFs like %EDITC, %CHAR, and %TRIMx
already gives you almost all the capabilities of "sprintf".
And it's easier to use than "sprintf"!
