Jerry, As another "youthfully challenged" programmer I had the same misgivings about learning new languages. However now that I've dabbled in Java and VBasic I have to say that learning a new language can bring back a lot of the lost enthusiasm I had in my younger days. So if people are looking for a reason to learn a new language or even re-invent RPG IMHO that is it! Don't go out and buy the Porsche when you hit mid-life crisis, learn a new language or do an MCSE! ;) Alistair Rooney Project Leader (Interfaces) Tibbett & Britten SA (www.tbg.co.uk) +27 (0) 31 204 7701 alistairr@tbsa.co.za -----Original Message----- From: Jerry Feador <JLF@valley-media.com> To: boothm@ibm.net <boothm@ibm.net>; RPG400-L@midrange.com <RPG400-L@midrange.com> Date: 02 August 1999 09:04 Subject: Re: RPG IV and CF-spec "keep it IBM" >I'll have to agree with the RPG'ers not being versed in C and probably don't want to be.
