Dear Scott, What a wonderful, wonderful man you are. That's exactly what I meant by 'live' advice. In this case it more amounts to holding my hand through it and you did that wonderfully. Thank you so much. What I have is a 4.2 AS400 with files and RPGs using 6,0 dates. My plan is to change the dates in the PFs to an L data type, converting the RPGs to RPGLE, changing any date work fields (if still needed) to *ISO in the D specs and doing the date manipulations within the converted RPGs using the date OP codes. I just love that new date stuff. I'm fortunate in that most of these programs are 300 lines of code or less and very straight forward. But when it came to converting the data, I knew what I wanted, but no idea of how to get it. You've made it crystal clear for me. I must have an awfully boring life. This has made me so happy, I can't wait to start. There are also about 6 SYS36 files whose data will have to be converted. Will you be my new best friend? You did say 'your legacy S/36 programs....' and I was wondering if maybe you might be available through email when I get to them? Thank you again for your time and patience. I appreciate so much you taking the time to help me. Sherry McMahon * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the RPG/400 Discussion Mailing List!
