Mike, Unless I am missing something from the original post, I don't see a requirement for multiple passes. Microsoft Query passes an SQL statement through ODBC to the 400. And since the Query can be represented graphically, this would be an advantage over Sequel in addition to not having to add the additional step that downloads the resulting table. It sounds to me as if you are confusing Query/400 with Microsoft Query.
