I've
been doing all the work in RPG IV (not ILE).

Hate to tell you this Buck, but if you're using sockets, you're using RPG
IV in the ILE mode.  If you weren't, the compiler would not accept
statements like:

 D socket          PR                  Extproc('socket') Like(rc)

Try specifying the Default AG parameter as *YES (the default) and you'll
see what I mean - I also note that the program is compiled to run in AG
QILE another no-no if it is not an ILE program.
