first off, just wanted to thank Booth & Buck for the outstanding help they've given me. and the rest of the list is cool too :) anyway, i coded something similar to this below: DOW *IN03=*OFF EXFMT SCREEN1 IF PROVINCE=*BLANKS EXFMT SCREEN1 ENDIF . . ENDDO the point being i was trying to keep PROVINCE from being BLANK at all b4 proceeding to screen2. but this caused an error that was along the lines of incompatible types in one of the two factor postions. but i thought you could do this with *blanks, set it us as one of the conditions you monitor a field with. was there something wrong with my code involving the *BLANKS? regards, Mohammad _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
