What a load of crap.

Ibm continue to invest millions of dollors in AS400 facilities, hardware &
software. 1Ghz+Processors are just round the corner, I current runs faster
than some mainframe, outperfoms and Nt server when it runs NT server on its
IPCS card.

Is cheaper to implement and support..Java, NT, Scalability, AS400 has it
all, if only other companies/OS systems did....

NT terminal server = Toys, when compaired to the facilities of an AS400.

It you want steady work on a stable BUSINESS platform go AS400, I have been
on it and the machines before it for 15 years never a day out of work..

RS/6000, NT...= quick buck for an IT company to rip someone off
AS/400 = real business solution at a real price

Subject: About prospects of AS/400 !!!!!

Hi,
I am a software professional working with an esteemed company. Recently
during a discussion there was a point brought out that there is not much in
store for AS/400 professionals in the future years to come and the trend
now is migrating applications from AS/400 to S/390 and RS/6000.
This kind of an information has made me apprehensive of continuing in
AS/400. I would really appreciate the help if some of you out there could
share their views on this and also tell me as what are the more recent
developments that are scheduled to take place on the AS/400 and where I can
get to know about the same thru the net.....

Regards,
Pavan Krishnamurthy.
