Tony,
You can call an API to do the conversion. The one we use for dates in that
format is qccvtdt. The input date format is *DTS.

Can anyone tell me how to easily convert the 8-byte Date/Time stamp data
format (*DTS) from a system message's field data values into a usable form
for ILE RPG. Or at least tell me the format of the binary code used so that
it can be bit-twiddled.
I am currently having to send it out to a CL to RTVMSG and return the text
equivalent which I can then process in RPG, but this seems very long winded
and is certainly inefficient.
Any Ideas?
