What would be the easiest (and maybe fastest, too) method to find out the lowest unused primary key in a file? Another question might be the fastest method to find any unused primary key in a file, but as I think the answers should be almost the same. What I'm doing at the moment is just CHAINing through the file, incrementing the search factor (Factor1) all the time, waiting for the error indicator to turn on. I'm not feeling like this is how it should be done, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Kind regards, Juris. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the RPG/400 Discussion Mailing List!
