15 inch with Touchbar. That took a bit of getting used to but it makes some things like word processing etc., so much easier.

I have 16Gb and that is enough for me as I only run one VM and even that only when I need to do accounting (too cheap to buy a new copy that runs native Mac!)

Jon,

Which model are you currently running ?

Do you have function keys of the touchbar ?

I'm looking at the 15" or 16" with 32gb ram so I can run 2-3 VMs.

Data center in a laptop 😊

I had a 2015 model Richard and had no keyboard issues. Have had more with my latest model - but I love the dynamic function keys so much that I happily live with it.

Overall the increased productivity has far outweighed the additional cost of the hardware. And how do you value phone support where you don't wait on hold, they call you back if you want at the time that you select. You talk to North America support folks who know what they're talking about and are not afraid to escalate an issue if needed. The only really difficult problem I had (some 7 years ago) the supervisor who ended up handling the call gave me his direct number, encouraged me to call if the problem was not resolved, and called me back a week later to make sure I was OK 'cos I hadn't called!

Of course that optional support is not available on refurb machines unless they are from Apple.
