I did quite a number of Win 7 to Win 10 updates, in place, without any
issues or losing of apps. But not my desktop.
I tried several times to update my desktop a couple years back and it would
always fail at 74% and revert back. So recently I bought a different
desktop and just started from scratch. So I can't answer the RDi part, but
I had no issues with any other desktop I updated.

David,
I do not believe there is truly an "in-place update" from Win7 to Win10
... as far as I can tell, it will just do a full install of Win10, more or
less wiping out any knowledge of any previously installed programs and
applications. It will however still "preserve" your "data. :-/
So, first, be sure to get some type of low-cost external USB drive,
(amazingly cheap on Amazon, etc.), and do a full back-up of your Windows 7
system... so you have it all safely backed up and stored away.
Next, I suggest using a free tool to make a VMWare virtual machine that
contains a complete "clone" of your entire Windows 7 system, just in case
... That way, if you run into problems, after upgrading to Win10, you can
always just start up that Win7 virtual machine to test those various
versions of RDi, etc.
Hope that helps,

Folks:
I've been resisting Windows 10 for a long time ... but our IT
department has determined that we have to upgrade (due to MS stopping
updates to Win 7).
How reliable is an in-place Win 7 to 10 upgrade?
I'm specifically concerned about RDi. I have 5 copies of RDi
installed (different versions, so I can test my plug-in).
Thanks!
