Sounds like malware check your hosts file. XP does not block your access to
Google. Also XP is old and unsupported. If the machine won't run a newer
version of windows install linux.

Well, I can get to downforeveryoneorjustme.com
I can't get to yahoo.com or google.com but I can get to bing.com so I
figure there's some setting in IE that says thou shalt not use search
sites that return meaningful hits that are less than 80% ads. How do I
turn that off? I can ping google.com. My work laptop, on the same wi-fi,
can get to google.com.
